The Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale (STSS)

The Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale (STSS) is a self-assessment tool designed to help individuals reflect on symptoms associated with indirect exposure to trauma, such as those experienced through contact with traumatic material, cases, or individuals in distress. It is commonly used to identify signs of emotional impact in caregiving, judicial, and frontline professions.

Please be advised that the STSS is not a diagnostic tool and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or psychiatric evaluation or treatment.

The results are intended solely for personal insight and awareness. Your responses are anonymous and are not stored or shared. All data is processed temporarily and discarded when you leave the page.

⚠️ Important

If you are experiencing significant emotional distress or if your results indicate a moderate to high level of concern, we strongly recommend that you consult a qualified healthcare provider.

In the event of a crisis, please seek immediate support from local mental health services or emergency care.
